Most of you don’t know that guitarist Humberto Flores (of the Villalobos Brothers) and I are recording an album called Sad Songs from a Happy Heart or that we launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise the money to complete the project.
PLEASE ,MAKE SURE YOU READ THE UPDATES!!
We are almost at the end of our campaign and we are nowhere near our goal of money to raise. It’s mostly my fault. It’s been a bad comedy of errors. I, who pride myself in being so tech-savvy (after all I took HTML more than 20 years ago) launched the campaign before my go-author/performer had given me the figures of how much it would cost and I hadn’t written a description. In any case , here we are near the end and I want to tell you what we have accomplished and what it has cost and we have spent way and above what we have raised.
We bought an essential program for my collaborator’s MAC that enables to do what we did we the songs that I am uploading. These songs are ready to go into post -production after we formally record them. In post production, we will add other instruments such as another guitar, violins, accordions, and sometimes a harp. That is Humberto’s genius.
Here are the two links to the songs Hay unos Ojos (the Mexican These Eyes but a totally different tune that I sing because I fell in love with a young man with beautiful eyes whose gaze goes straight into my heart) and Beso Asesino ( it’s title something like A kiss that kills. These are just two of the songs we will include but we have decided on a playlist which is subject to change but we don’t think so. I’ve been practicing them constantly and have developed a distinctive style, just like my cooking with layers of flavors and emotions.

If you don’t love them immediately, I think you soon will because Humberto is a great producer and musical director and will know how to get to young people’s souls. But it will appeal to most ages. Your mother will love it and so will your grandmother if you are lucky enough to have one. These are songs I used to sing with my mother and she will accompany me on the piano on two songs. Luckily, my nephew recorded her at the piano before she passed away.
Playlist:
La Huerfanita
El Dia que me Dijistes

Please help us. We only have 6 days and we need the money to complete. the project.
